Outside Contributions

The organizations that help HackRange train the next generation of cyber security professionals.

Free and discounted services for our students

HackRange is supported by many organizations who have provided free or discounted services to support our students.

Their generosity puts professional grade tools in the hands of every HackRange student and instructor. We are grateful, and we want everyone to know who they are.

Why Their Support Matters

HackRange teaches cyber security the way it is practiced: hands on, in real environments, with the same class of tools that working security teams rely on every day. Those tools cost money, and every dollar we do not spend on licensing is a dollar that goes back into mentorship, labs, and curriculum.

The organizations on this page have chosen to give our students free or discounted access to their products. That support lets us keep HackRange focused on what matters most: producing capable, job ready security professionals. In return, our students graduate already fluent in the tools these organizations build.

Many commercial providers reserve their non-profit pricing for organizations registered with the IRS as 501(c)(3) charities. HackRange operates as a 100% non-profit, but it is not registered as a 501(c)(3). Every supporter on this page helped us anyway, because of what HackRange does for its students.

HackRange also gives back. Our own open source contributions are industry grade security tools that we develop and release free of charge.

Continuous autonomous penetration testing for HackRange

Horizon3 provides its NodeZero continuous autonomous penetration testing platform to HackRange free of charge. Our students see how autonomous pentesting works on a real platform, and NodeZero helps secure our own environment.

Like Zulip and eSHARE, Horizon3 supported HackRange without requiring IRS 501(c)(3) registration.
